Shannon "Ace" Haney

Shannon “Ace” Michael Aloysius Haney, 51, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, February 6, 2025.  Born in Wilmington on March 9, 1973, he was the son of the late James and Marie (Soltys) Haney.

Ace attended Corpus Christi Grade School and Howard High School.  Ace followed in his father’s footsteps by continuing the family DJ business, which led to him achieving his lifelong dream of owning and operating a sports bar.  In 2011, Ace, a dedicated sports enthusiast, established Throwbacks Sports Lounge in Hockessin, and proudly nurtured it into a very successful business where many regular patrons enjoyed the camaraderie and fun times.  He kept everyone entertained with his larger-than-life personality and ability to make one and all feel welcome. 

Along with being a sports enthusiast, Ace enjoyed collecting horror movie memorabilia which often resulted in trips to conventions where he was able to meet many of this childhood idols.  Ace traveled all over the United States making memories and new friends everywhere he went.  From Wilmington to St. Petersburg, FL to Las Vegas and many cities in between, if he was in your company you were in for laughter, jokes, drinks and most likely a late evening! 

Although Ace was not blessed with longevity, he lived true to his words: “I’m not here for a long time, I’m here for a good time!”.

Per his request, there will be no service for Ace.
