Sarah Della Cramer, age 30, a native of Prescott, Arizona, passed away on Dec. 10, 2025, into the loving and welcoming arms of Jesus, with her parents by her side. She was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (Brittle Bones). Her family, friends, and community came together to provide support for her and her family. She became a "Shriner kid" a few months after her birth. The Shriners Children’s hospitals managed most of her extensive medical care. Despite her disability, dozens of surgeries, hospitalizations, and too many fractures to count, Sarah remained extremely active in her schools, community, and church.
She attended Prelude Preschool, Abia Judd Elementary, Mile High Middle School, and Tri City College Prep High School, where she was president of her senior class, as well as salutatorian. She continued her education at Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University, receiving a BS in Justice Studies and Social Inquiry, with a minor in Women and Gender Studies and certificate in Economic Justice. Sarah discovered her love of teaching after working as a paraprofessional and teacher's aide for Mile High Middle School and Mountain Oak Charter School and as a substitute teacher for PUSD. This prompted further education at Prescott College, earning her Master’s in Secondary Education. Sarah worked as a writing teacher at Tri-City College Prep Middle School and then changed roles in 2021 to become the lead teacher at her Prescott Landmark Church's Highest Praise Christian Academy. She soon became the school's administrator and board member of the church, not to mention treasurer, editor of their newspaper, inventory manager, and devoted attendee. Concurrently, she taught part-time at Mountain Oaks Charter School as the reading specialist and served on their school board.
Sarah was very active in her community from an early age. Those who have lived in Prescott a long time may remember Sarah as the Kiwi Bird, The Butterfly, or even Tiny Tim in plays around town. She had a beautiful voice and sung the National Anthem at many venues, including an Arizona Rattler's Game, the POA/MIA Ceremony at the VA where she was a youth volunteer, at Shriner events, and even for the opening session of Congress at the Arizona State Capitol. She loved playing the piano and was a self-taught ukelele player. She was quite prolific in writing both songs and stories.
Sarah was baptized when she was three months old and again at Landmark Church in 2017, devoting the rest of her life in the path of Christ. Sarah read her bible every day and had her own little ministry, sending bible verses with her impressions of the passages to hundreds of people daily. She was often spotted downtown in her power chair at her favorite cafes, as well as busking with her ukelele on the square, visiting with friends, meeting strangers, and handing out free bibles to anyone in need. Sarah had a way of making instant connections with people and lasting impressions. She could talk for hours on most any subject and was happy to spend time with people she just met. Sarah once shared, "My hobby is people. I maintain rich and loving friendships with many! It's like a little ministry, I guess. I love people."
Sarah is survived by her parents, Bill and Michelle Cramer; her sister, Megan Cramer; her grandparents, Dick and Karen Pinney; her aunts, Victoria Cramer and Darcy Pinney; and her uncle, Harry Cramer. She leaves behind her loving family, her church family, and dear friends that were touched by her love, laughter, and unbreakable spirit. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away." Thank you Sarah for taking our breath away and giving us memories to cherish forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 6th, at 1:00pm (MT) at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 630 Park Ave., Prescott, AZ. Refreshments will follow at the church.
