Sandra Kay Pietruczenia, 78, of Newark, Delaware peacefully passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. Born in Wilmington on November 16, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Katherine (Kurzius) Culver.
Sandra was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and worked as a resident care giver and activities director with Newark Manor and Foulk Manor North nursing and rehabilitation centers. Sandra and her husband, Joe, enjoyed antique shopping and many road trips throughout the United States. Her greatest joy and accomplishment was being a loving homemaker and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was truly the center of her life.
Sandra will be dearly missed by her husband of 60 years, Joseph Pietruczenia; her daughters, Karen Piacentino, Laurie Pietruczenia, Katherine Mathena and husband, Gregory, Eileen Talley and husband, Kevin; her beloved grandchildren, Joseph Piacentino Jr., Bryana Pietruczenia, Brandon Willey and wife, Sophia, Calise Piacentino, Jarod Pietruczenia and Brooke Mathena; her great grandchildren, Wells Willey and Ezra Gray Willey. Also surviving are her brothers, Howard Culver and Kenneth Culver; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Culver.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Tuesday, December 30 from 9:00 - 10:00AM. Funeral services will begin at 10:00AM. Interment will be held privately with the immediate family.
