Sally Ann (Delle Donne) Cannon, 77, of Wilmington, Delaware, a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on Monday May 5, 2025. She was predeceased by her husband, Tommy (January 2025) with whom she shared 53 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a life full of warmth, laughter, and lasting memories.
Sally was the devoted mother of three children, Michele Petrucci Butler (Vince), Neal Crosley (Nancy) and Thomas Cannon Jr. (Deana); proud grandmother of eight, Gabrielle (Albert), Tayler, Max (Abigail) and Sam Crosley, Victoria and Vincent Butler (Erin), Gage Cannon (Michayla), Mikey Gravenor (Julia); and adoring great-grandmother to five, Alyvia, Bella, Aiden, Crew and Eloise. She also shared a close and loving bond with her two sisters, Pat and Rose, relationships she cherished deeply throughout her life. Her love for her family was unwavering and evident in every moment spent together.
Known for her quick wit and a sharp sense of humor that could light up any room, Sally had a talent for making people laugh, often with a perfectly timed, colorful comment. She had a love for the simple pleasures of life: a fresh gel manicure and perm, shopping at Boscov’s, and enjoying her time at Delaware Park, where she indulged her fondness for gambling.
Much of Sally’s life was dedicated to her home and family as a homemaker, but she also spent 14 meaningful years working for Blue Cross Blue Shield as a housekeeper, and later as a private caretaker. In every role she took on, she brought kindness, strength, and a no-nonsense spirit that endeared her to all who knew her.
Sally’s vibrant spirit, love of life, and deep devotion to her family leave a legacy of laughter, resilience, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
