Ruth Puglisi Obituary

Ruth M. (Marshall) Puglisi, age 92, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025 surrounded by her children.

Born in Wilmington, Delaware she was the daughter of the late George and Margaret Marshall. She is predeceased by her husband of 42 years, John A. Puglisi.

Ruth was the remaining sibling of a family of 10 children: brothers Richard, William, James and Charles and sisters Anna Poore, Lily Vandergrift, Jane Shinn, Margaret Pepe, and Dorothy Marshall. She is survived by her children, Johnette Kirk (John), Salvatore Puglisi, Marie Puglisi, Frances Puglisi, Denise DegliObizzi (Matthew) and Janine Stecca (Paul). Ruth is also survived by her grandchildren Matthew Jr. and Giavanna DegliObizzi whom she loved dearly.

Ruth was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens and loved cheering them on from her living room. She also loved watching her favorite tennis star Novak Djokovic and never missed a match.

Ruth was an accomplished seamstress and loved making clothes for family and friends. She also enjoyed art, doing puzzles, gardening and spending time with family at their cabin in Pennsylvania. More than anything, Ruth was a loving homemaker. She found joy in cooking meals for her family and friends. Her Sunday spaghetti and meatball dinners were so legendary people begged for an invitation.

A funeral service will be held at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Thursday, October 16 at 11:00AM. The burial will be private.
