Ruth Ann (Glunt) Power

Ruth Ann Power, age 68, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, after a struggle with lung cancer.

She was the daughter of the late John and Meriam (Bradway) Glunt and proudly described herself as an 'army brat'.  She graduated from Morehead State University, KY with a Master’s degree in speech and debate.  Ruth worked at museums for many years including long stints at Winterthur Museum and later the Brandywine River Museum. In recent years, Ruth enjoyed traveling, classic movies, crossword puzzles and sitting with friends watching the world go by. She took her civic responsibilities seriously: she was a life-long blood donor to the Red Cross and worked for the State of Delaware elections department at every election since she retired.   

Ruth was predeceased by her parents; and her sister, Nancy. She is survived by her husband, Michael; her daughter, Melissa Bryant; her brother, Stanley Glunt; her sister, Carol Combs; and her nieces and nephews.      

A celebration of Ruth's life will be held in the near future. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
