Ruby Gaynelle “Gay” Baxley, of Hockessin, DE, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 after a wonderful 92 years.

Her life began in Hogansville, GA, with her mother and father, Buela and Doc McVay, and her sister Gearlene. After meeting and marrying Guy Baxley, the love of her life, Guy’s Navy career took them all over the world. Together, they welcomed their son, Gary, and further embarked on fascinating adventures as a family.

Gay had a passion for teaching, hosting parties for her large circle of friends, playing bridge, traveling, and earned the title of “expert shopper.” Her most cherished title was Matriarch of the Baxley family. She is survived by her son Gary, her daughter in law Candice, her grandchildren Bethany, Danielle (Jeremy), and Brannon (Katherine) and her treasured great-grandchildren, Brady and Bailey. She is rejoined in the next life with her husband Guy, her mother, her father, and her sister.
