Robert LaFazia Obituary

Robert J. LaFazia, 92, of Wilmington, Delaware peacefully passed away with loved ones at his side on Saturday, May 24, 2025.  Born in Washington, DC on February 7, 1933, he was a son of the late John and Isabella (Ventura) LaFazia.

Bob was a graduate of Wilmington High School and dutifully served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War, having been stationed in Germany.  He was a well known bar tender at many area restaurants throughout the years.  Bob also owned and operated his own business for 40 years, Bob’s Custom Clubs, and was proud to have created custom golf clubs for various clients around the world.

A football enthusiast, Bob was an awarded player in high school and also played football at West Nottingham Prep, in Germany while serving in the Army, and at West Chester University prior to meeting the love of his life, Kitty.  He was a loyal Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan, and also enjoyed playing golf as well as cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events.  Above all, his greatest joy was spending time with his beloved family.

His wife of 59 years, Catherine (Lucia) LaFazia, passed away on February 6, 2018.

Bob will be dearly missed by his daughters, Dina LaFazia Treml and husband, Michael, Corinne LaFazia Lizza and husband, Peter; his grandchildren, Nicole Pierce, Shane Treml and wife, Kathleen, Jamie Treml and wife, Kristina, Mark Lizza; his great granddaughters, Giada, Antonia and Valentina Pierce, Ava and Autumn Treml, Grace and Daisy Treml.  Also surviving are his brother, Dennis LaFazia, and several nieces, nephews and their families.
