Robert Burns Clevenger “Bob”, 79, passed away March 6, 2023. He was born February 11, 1944 to Harold W. and Dorothy M. Clevenger in Upland PA. Bob was raised in Glen Riddle, PA and attended Penncrest High School. In his early years he worked for Martel & Acme Markets.
After serving his country for two years in the United States Army, Bob was honorably discharged as a Sergeant, E-5. He then attended both the Philadelphia College of Textiles & Sciences and Goldey-Beacom College. He then settled into his career as a Financial Analyst for DuPont and retired after 42 years in December of 2006.
Robert served on many boards and committees, including nine years as the President of Stanton-Newport Little League, nineteen years as the District Administrator for District 2 DE, nine years on the Chestnut Run FCU Board of Directors, another three years on the Louviers FCU Board of Directors, and two years on the Board of Directors for Rosehill Association.
Bob is survived by a large and loving family including his wife Nancy and their children Rocco (DeAnna) DiCarlantonio and Mark (Marlene) DiCarlantonio, and their grandchildren, Christian, Kaylin, Mariana, Bella, Rocky, Kristofer, Drew, Carissa (Jamie), and Hayley (Carson). Bob also leaves behind one sibling, Barry (Nancy) Clevenger, and a sister-in-law, Caroline (Joe) Kubala.
Bob and Nancy loved vacationing, among their favorite places to visit were Hawaii, Aruba, and Ocean City, MD.
Services will be held to honor and celebrate Robert’s life at the Doherty Funeral home at 3200 Limestone Rd, on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. A public visitation will begin at 10:00 am and the service at 11:00. Robert will be laid to rest at the Delaware Veteran’s Cemetery in Bear, DE the same day, with military honors at 1:00 pm.
The family would like to thank the nurses at Christiana Care, Encompass, and Bayada, especially Rose, for the loving care given to Robert throughout this past year.
