Robert E. Barfield III

Robert E. Barfield III, age 84, of Newark, Delaware, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026.

Born in 1942, Robert was raised in Northumberland, Pennsylvania and was the son of the late Robert E. Barfield Jr. and Frances E. (Derk) Barfield. Following his college graduation, he and his wife made their home in the Newark, Delaware area.

Robert dedicated his career to education and was a respected teacher at Mount Pleasant High School as well as Padua Academy. He will be remembered with love and appreciation by all who knew him for his kindness, warmth, and the positive impact he had on the lives of his students, colleagues, family, and friends.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Dr. Jane Stroh Barfield, along with several nieces and nephews.

Services for Mr. Barfield will be private.
