Richard (Dick) M. Chubbs

Richard (Dick) M. Chubbs, age 85, passed away peacefully at his home on October 10, 2021. He was predeceased by his father, Richard M. Chubbs, Sr. and mother, Nellie Sobin Chubbs.

Dick graduated from Salesianum High School and received an Associate Degree in Industrial Engineering in 1976. During his career, he worked for various firms as an Industrial Engineer and retired from ALP Lighting, Pennsauken, NJ.

Boating was Dick’s passion and he spent many enjoyable hours on the Chesapeake and later at his beach home in Keenwik and the Assawoman Bay behind Ocean City, MD. His hobbies included an elaborate miniature train set up and home aquarium. He kept busy with yard work and enjoyed maintaining his cars.

Dick was a devoted husband, a great father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Madeline Chubbs; his sons, Joseph R. Chubbs (Tiffany) of Hockessin, DE and Steven A. Chubbs (Sharon) of Wilmington, DE; his grandchildren, Tara, Nicholas, Joshua, Jeffrey and Lauren; and his great-granddaughter, Annika.

Family and friends may visit beginning at 10 AM on Thursday, October 21 at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 901 E. Newport Pike, Wilmington, DE 19804, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 AM. Entombment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
