Richard Bartoli Obituary

Richard C. Bartoli, 82 of Millsboro, Delaware and formerly of Elsmere, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.  Born in Berlin, New Hampshire on June 29, 1938, he was the son of the late Daniel and Beatrice (Hopkins) Bartoli.

Richard proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps.  He began his career with Atlantic Aviation, and went on to become employed with Bell Atlantic (Verizon) as a switchman, having retired in 2000 after 35 years of dedicated service.  Richard enjoyed living in Millsboro, where he was jokingly known as the “Mayor of Oak Orchard”, always willing to help his neighbors.  He also enjoyed tinkering in his garage, classic cowboy movies, country music, and, most especially, spending time with his family and his faithful dog, Buddy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah; his brother, Daniel; his brother-in-law, David; his niece, Denise.

Richard is survived by his children, Louis (Joyce), Richard (Lisa), Robert (Donna) and Danielle Menosky (Michael); his grandchildren, Sarah, Wesley (Yasmin), Chelsey (Charles), Alex, Shayla and Ryan; his great grandchildren, Julius and Zoey; his former spouse, Patricia; his brother, George; his beloved nieces and nephews; his countless family friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Friday, February 5 from 10:30-11:30AM.  Funeral services will begin at 11:30AM, followed by interment in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
