Phyllis L. Sanna, age 95, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 5, 2025. She was born in Wilmington, 1 of 7 children of the late Louis and Ann Hawkins.
Phyllis dedicated her life to her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, mom-mom and great-mom-mom. She took pride in maintaining a tidy home and pristine yard; enjoyed taking walks at Delcastle Park; and loved dancing the jitterbug and spending time at Delaware Park racetrack with her husband, Nick. Above all else, she cherished the time she spent with her family.
She is survived by her children, Nick Sanna (Nicole), Roseann DiSabatino (Richard, deceased), Evelyn High (Buck), Kathy Horkey (Mike), Ronnie Sanna (Kim), and Dave Sanna (Deborah); her grandchildren, Nick, Erin, Tracy, Chris, Morgan, Nicole, Carla, Michael, Amanda, Ronnie, and Kelsey; her 6 great-grandchildren, as well as several members of her extended family.
In addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nick Sanna.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 11:30am on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:00am. Interment will be held in Cathedral Cemetery.
