Pauline Tipton Jones, age 84, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2021, surrounded by family. Pauline was born in West Grove, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Raymond and Kathryn Tipton. She was one of eight children.
She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend to many.
Pauline is survived by her daughters Beth (Dominick) and Faith (Rich) of Newark, Delaware, her son David (Karen) of West Chester, Pennsylvania, and her stepson John (Connie) of Santa Clarita California; ten grandchildren Maria, Matthew, Daniel, Heather, Kyle, Allison, Zak, Lauren, Brooke, and Alex; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pauline grew up with a variety of interests, including athletics, music, and artistry, of which she won several awards. Pauline was active in several church communities throughout her life, and taught Sunday School to children for many years. Baking was her specialty, and she was renowned throughout the entire family for her coconut layer cake and fried chicken. She loved driving and would often leave the map at home to enjoy an impromptu trip through the country roads of Pennsylvania. In her golden years, she took great pride in caring for her late husband, John Jones, who she was married to for over sixty years. John passed away on June 26, 2018.
Pauline was the life of the party and had a charming and warm personality, even when her health declined. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community and Willow Tree Hospice for their care and comfort in the last few months.
A memorial service will be held for both Pauline and John at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Thursday, July 15, at 11AM followed by burial at Union Hill Cemetery in Kennett Square, PA. Friends may visit with the family on hour prior to the service.
