Patricia Ann Quill (Swain) of Hockessin, Delaware, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2026, at the age of 78, after a courageous four-year battle with Alzheimer's disease and cancer.
Pat is survived by her daughter, Colleen, and son-in-law, Paul; her four beloved grandchildren, Ella, Maeve, Phin, and Eden; and her sister, Mary Ellen, and brother-in-law, Mark.
Pat enjoyed a long and fulfilling career with the Red Clay Consolidated School District. Known affectionately as "Ms. Pat," she brightened the days of countless students by greeting them with stickers, candy, and a warm smile when they visited the school office. Following her retirement, she devoted her time to family, especially enjoying summers at the beach, long walks with friends, and tending to her garden. Her faith remained an important part of her life, and she found great fulfillment volunteering at the food pantry at Mary Mother of Peace Parish.
A private service will be held for family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Urban Promise Wilmington, 1000 E. 28th Street, Wilmington, DE 19802, by phone at (302) 425-5502 or by email at office@urbanpromise.org.
Pat's gentle spirit, generous heart, and steadfast love for her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
