Patricia Anne (O’Hare) Langan, affectionately known as “Tia” by all those who loved her, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025.
As the matriarch of the Langan family, she raised 6 children, had 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren who all loved her dearly. She will always be remembered by her inimitable style, her wholesome laugh, sunny optimism and her dedication to the church, of which she was a patron and attended every week. She impacted not only the friends and family she loved, but the entire community she called home.
Tia was a graduate of West Catholic Girls High School in Philadelphia, class of 1952. She was an acclaimed customer service representative with PNC Bank in Wilmington for 18 years, and was a procurement clerk with Artcraft Electric in Wilmington for 9 years. Tia also served as a teacher’s aide at both Robert S. Gallagher and St. John the Beloved elementary schools. She was a member of RAMS (Run Away Mothers) and the SAGE Group of Holy Family Parish. In her leisure time, Tia enjoyed gardening, collecting teapots, as well as watching and supporting her grandchildren in their various interests and activities.
Tia is survived by her children and their spouses: Patrick and Cheryl Langan of Conway, SC, Maureen and Mark Burgess of Newark, DE, Paul and Theresa Langan of Wilmington, DE, Michael and Sue Langan of Georgetown, DE, Matthew and Betsey Langan of Scottsdale, AZ; her grandchildren: Shelby of Georgetown, DE, Kyle of Los Angeles, CA, Sean of Boston, MA, Tara and Haley of Wilmington, DE, Kevin and Shannon of Newark, DE, Patricia of Elkton, MD, Matthew and Keegan of Virginia Beach, VA; and 6 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Mark Langan, and her granddaughter, Caroline.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Monday, November 24th, 2025 from 11:00AM – 12:00PM, with funeral services immediately following.
