Pamela Amato Haley, 58, of Newark, Delaware, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
Pam was born in Wilmington, Delaware on May 19, 1967, daughter of Barbara and Vincent Amato. Pam was a graduate of Glasgow High School and Delaware Technical Community College. She held various positions in the chemical industry, most recently with NIIMBL at the University of Delaware. Pam enjoyed the simple things in life – a delicious meal prepared by Joe, watching the sunset, dancing and singing to the classics. Her infectious smile and warm personality lit up the room. Pam enjoyed a glass of wine at happy hour with her daughter, catching up on all the gossip. Pam especially enjoyed her girls' trips to Cape Coral, Florida.
Pam’s greatest pleasure came from gatherings with her family. An avid and passionate sports fan, Pam loved watching the Phillies and Eagles. Pam fought metastatic breast cancer for seven years with incredible grace, courage and beauty. Even though she was sick, she was always taking care of and showing up for others with a smile on her face and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Pam will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Joe Haley, her daughter, Taylor Hutchinson, and her mother, Barbara Amato. She is also survived by her sister, Angela Giliberti (Tony) and her brother, Tony (AnnMarie), and nieces and nephews, Anthony Giliberti, Cara Williams (Kye), Dominic Amato, and Ava Amato. Pam blended families beautifully and effortlessly with Joe’s children, Ben Haley, Rachel Haley and Angela Haley. Pam was predeceased by her father, Vince Amato.
The family would like to thank her medical team at Helen Graham Center for their compassionate care during her breast cancer journey.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE on Thursday, January 22 from 10:00AM – 12:00PM, with a Remembrance Service immediately following.
