Norma Ruth (Urban) Bratt, 70, passed away peacefully with family by her side at her home in Middletown on Sunday, May 8, 2022, following a brief battle with cancer.

Norma was born on Long Island, New York on August 10, 1951, to Earle and Shirley (Donaldson) Burke. Her family relocated to Manhattan where she grew up. She graduated from the Academy of the Sacred Heart of Mary (High School) (Park Terrace NY) and Goldey Beacom College, Delaware, and had a 27-year career with General Motors Corporation until her retirement in 2008.

Norma was predeceased by her father and mother, her grandparents, and one aunt for whom she was named.

Norma is survived by her husband Jim; daughter Christine Lagola (Kevin); daughter Kathleen Urban (Ben); grandchildren Zachary, Megan, and Lindsay Lagola; Robert Carpenter and Emily Urban; great-granddaughter Lily; sister Stacey Hendrickson (Greg); step-children Maureen (Tom) and Michael (Margery), her beloved nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Norma’s greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother.  She also had many friendships that she cherished. Norma made many wonderful memories with her family and friends and was loved by all.

The family would like to thank Dr. Evan Lapinsky and his staff at Medical Oncology Hematology Consultants and the staff of Delaware Hospice for the outstanding care they provided Norma to ensure that the family had more time with her.
