Norma Ann (Searfass) Brodzinski

Norma Ann (Searfass) Brodzinski, 89, of Eldersburg, Maryland, formerly a longtime resident of North Wilmington, Delaware, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026.  Born in Eddystone, Pennsylvania on October 15, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Bert and Ida (Gregg) Searfass.

Norma was very proud to have been a devoted homemaker, always placing her family at the center of her life.  As the last surviving of her siblings, she was the matriarch of her large extended family.  Norma later joined the workforce and was employed as a salesperson with Strawbridge & Clothier Department Store for 20 years, all the while remaining dedicated to her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt.

Her husband, Walter W. Brodzinski, passed away on September 3, 2017. In addition, Norma was sadly predeceased by daughter, Sharon Wilson on March 29, 2019 and her son, Steven Brodzinski on October 28, 2025.

Norma will be dearly missed by her children, Patricia Brodzinski, Mark Brodzinski (Nancy) and Christine Sowinski (Anthony); her grandchildren, Mark Jr., Megan, Brandun, Christopher, Cameron, Jack and Andrew; her great grandchildren, Lily, Emma, Cameron Jr., Ethan and Declan.  In addition, she is survived by her son-in-law, Frank Wilson; her daughter-in-law, Christine Brodzinski; several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Tuesday, July 21 from 9:30 – 11:00AM.  Funeral services will begin at 11:00AM, immediately followed by interment at All Saints Cemetery.
