Nedenia C. (Abad) Leech

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce that our beloved Dina has passed on July 9, 2021. Her battle didn’t define her life but instead it exemplified her love for life, family and friends.

Born in Baltimore, MD on June 23, 1963, Dina was the daughter of Dr. Prudencio G. Abad and Dr. Remedios Del Rosario Abad. She was raised in Wilmington Delaware, attended St Mark’s High School and the University of Delaware. She worked in the medical insurance field for various firms, the latest as a Network Relations Manager at Coventry/Aetna Health Insurance for 19 years.

Dina was devoted to the end to her loving husband, Jay for 35 years, having built a loving life and home together in New London, Pennsylvania.  She cherished her family life, loved to travel on vacations with friends and family, and was very close to her siblings. She loved going to the gym, political debates, but most of all, loved being a wife and mom.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Jacob and Samantha; her mother, Dr. Remedios Abad; four sisters, two brothers along with 12 nieces and nephews.  Dina was predeceased by her father, Dr. Prudencio G. Abad. We take solace knowing our beautiful Dina has exchanged her wings of feathers for the wings of an angel. She will live in our hearts and minds until we meet again.

Friends and family may attend the viewing at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE on Friday, July 16, 2021 from 8:30-10:00AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road at 10:30AM, followed by burial at All Saints Cemetery.
