Monica Lee Smyth, age 44, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
Born on December 9, 1981, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Monica later made Delaware her home. She attended both St. Mark’s High School and Thomas McKean High School.
Monica had a deep and genuine passion for helping others, especially those facing mental health challenges. For the past two years, she dedicated her time as a volunteer with Face the Facts and, throughout her life, generously supported many other organizations. Her compassion, kindness, and willingness to uplift others left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Above all, Monica’s greatest joy was her family. She cherished her children and shared a special bond with her beloved dog, Lilly. In her quiet moments, she found peace and happiness in coloring and tending to her garden—simple pleasures that reflected her gentle spirit.
Monica is survived by her son, Jaden Smyth and his fiancé, Serenity Quesenberry; her children, Nolan Gregors and Niko Gregors; her loving mother, Donna A. Sarver; her sister, Stephanie DeLucia, her brother-in-law, John DeLucia, and their sons, Blake and Holden DeLucia.
She was preceded in death by her father, William J. Smyth III
