Millicent “Millie” (Sutton) Stirparo, 87, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026. Born in Wilmington on May 29, 1938, she was a daughter of the late William and Ada (Boyer) Sutton.
Millie was a graduate of Wilmington High School, married, and became a fulltime homemaker and stay at home mother. After raising her sons, Millie became employed with Deerhead Hot Dogs, The Cave Restaurant and Conrad High School. She enjoyed bowling, watching men’s professional tennis, spending time at the beach, a relaxing glass of wine and playing cards. She especially loved cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events.
Millie will be dearly missed by her husband of 69 years, Thomas A. Stirparo Sr.; her sons, John J. Stirparo, Thomas A. Stirparo Jr. and wife, Mary Kay, Daniel P. Stirparo and wife, Mary; her grandchildren, Christine M. Stirparo (Jason), Gregory M. Stirparo (Lauren), Kevin A. Stirparo, Daniel Stirparo (Paige), Michael Stirparo (Marlie), and Meghan Stirparo; her great grandchildren, Sebastian, Lucia, Jack and Beckham. In addition, she is survived by her sister, Rosemary Sande.
Millie was predeceased by her siblings, Russel Sutton, Shirley Fede, Phyllis Kelley, Ronny Sutton, Ruthann Ryan and Roger Sutton.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 1900 Delaware Avenue, Wilmington on Tuesday, March 3 from 9:30 – 11:00AM. Funeral services will begin at 11:00AM, immediately followed by entombment at Cathedral Cemetery, 2400 Lancaster Avenue, Wilmington.
