Michelle Ann Williams, age 57, of Bear, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 9, 2021.
Born in 1963 in Chester, PA to William G. Williams, Jr. and Nancy J. Willey, Michelle was one of three daughters. Michelle graduated from Claymont High School in 1981; she was active in sports and participated in several clubs, including the Health Career Club. She went on to attend Montgomery College for several semesters studying English and Literature. Her nickname was “Shell”.
After receiving her education, Michelle worked in the retail world for most of her life until she became disabled. She worked everywhere from Wilmington Dry Goods, Fanny Farmer, Fotomat and Carlton Cards.
Michelle also loved spending time at the beach and lived there early on in her life. She also loved shopping and was a “shopaholic” who was always buying items for family and friends. Michelle enjoyed writing poetry, loving on her dogs, and was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan that was proud to be a part of “Steelers Nation”. “Here we go Steelers, here we go!”
Along with both of her parents, William and Nancy, Michelle was predeceased by her partner of 21 years, Virginia “Ginny” H. DiCenzo. She is survived by her sisters, Lisa Megginson (Joseph E. Megginson Jr.) and Denise Gropp (late husband, Jeffrey W. Gropp); her nephew, Joseph E. Megginson III (Corey Megginson); her niece, Kelly Gonzalez (Ruben Gonzalez); her great niece, Rosie Gonzalez; and many cousins and friends.
