Michael P. Gallagher

Michael P. Gallagher, 59, of Newark, DE, passed away unexpectedly on August 5th, 2025.

Michael dedicated many years of his professional life to the Wilmington News Journal, a Gannett publication, where he served as a valued manager. He was known for his steady presence, strong work ethic, and the quiet care he brought to his work and colleagues.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, John and Dolores Gallagher, and his dear sister, Kathleen Gallagher. Michael is survived by his sister, Nancy Paul of Henderson, NY; his son, Dustin (Katy) Howard of Lewes, DE; and his beloved niece and nephews, Shelby-Lynn, Don, Adam, and Andy, all of New York. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Michael’s life will be held at 10:30 AM on Sunday, August 31st, 2025, at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808. All who knew Michael are warmly invited to attend and share in remembering his life.
