Michael P. Albanese

Michael Albanese Jr., 68, of Wilmington, Delaware peacefully passed away due to complications of pneumonia, while under the loving care of AccentCare Hospice at Christiana Hospital, on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.  Born in Wilmington on February 3, 1957, he was the son of the late Michael and Dorothy (Kisielnicki) Albanese.

In his younger days, Michael resided in Hartley, Delaware, later moving to Wilmington.  He worked in construction with Local Union #42.  He will be remembered for his good sense of humor and will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, Michael was predeceased by his brothers, Bobby Albanese and Wayne Albanese.

Michael is survived by his sister, Joyce DiCostanza and her husband, Michael of Newark.  Joyce lovingly assisted Michael navigate through life.  He is also survived by his youngest brother, Daniel Albanese of Smyrna; a host of nieces and nephews who he deeply cared for, especially Kali, who he referred to as "the boss".

The family would like to offer their deepest thanks and appreciation to Horizon House and AccentCare Hospice at Christiana Hospital.  Special thanks are also extended to Kevin and Paulette, who made his time at the nursing home enjoyable.

Funeral services for Michael will be held privately.
