Maxine E. Pannhorst, 70, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. Born in Wilmington on July 10, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Earl Bedwell and Roberta (Palmer) Bedwell.
A diligent and hardworking person, Maxine owned and operated a residential cleaning service for more than 30 years, as well as working evenings at MBNA, and often working 7 days a week. In her younger years, she worked as a line cook with Amtrak.
Maxine was devoted to her grandchildren, and enjoyed time at the beach, taking day trips, and hosting Sunday dinners for her family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first born son, Howard Lewis; her sister, Diane Bedwell.
Maxine will be dearly missed by her children, Louis Pannhorst Jr. and wife, Rachel, Kimberly Wyatt and husband, Brian, Christina Hart; her beloved grandchildren, Zachary, Tyler, Dominic, Isaiah, Cameron and Lexi. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Verucci; her sister-in-law, Lisa Darnell; her former husband, Louis Pannhorst Sr.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Wednesday, February 10 from 12:00-1:00PM. Funeral services will begin at 1:00PM, followed by a private burial service for the immediate family.
