Max John Wilson, age 90, of Newark, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 26, 2021.
He was born in West Jefferson, North Carolina, one of fifteen children of the late Emitt and June (Johnson) Wilson.
Max served honorably in the US Army and upon his discharge, enjoyed a long career with Chrysler Automotive, working as an inspector on their assembly line.
He was a huge fan of NASCAR, and enjoyed woodworking in his retirement. He will be remembered for his down-to-earth personality and great sense of humor.
Max is survived by his beloved wife, Frances; his sons, Richard (Juanita) and Michael (Kim); his grandchildren, Chad (Adrian) and Michael Davis (Lisa); and his great-grandchildren, Natalie and Ryan Davis, and James, Matthew and Isabel Wilson.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 12:00pm on Thursday, April 1, 2020, at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:30am. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Max’s memory can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
