Our beloved Mary Rita Paoletti Brady passed away peacefully at home on the morning of Friday, January 27th, after a short illness.
Mary was born on July 5,1949 in Wilmington, the oldest daughter of the late Frances Giacomelli and Anthony Paoletti. She attended elementary school at St. John the Beloved and after graduating from Corpus Christi High School, she attended the Nursing School of Wilmington and earned her degree as a Registered Nurse. Mary spent her career as a Registered Nurse for over thirty-five years at the Memorial Hospital, later Wilmington and Christiana Care retiring in 2003.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. More than anything she loved being Nona to her grandchildren, their friends and her great nieces and nephews.
Mary was a kind, loving woman to all. She enjoyed traveling, the beach, gardening and volunteering her time. She was a mentor at Skyline Elementary School and Linden Hill Elementary School, and volunteered at St. John the Beloved and the Ronald McDonald House. True happiness for Mary was caring for others and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her brother Mark Paoletti; her beloved son Christopher Patrick; and her husband and love of her life Kevin.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Kelly Ann McGovern and son-in-law Damien; her three adoring grandchildren, Brady, Griffin and Reagan; sisters and brothers–in-law; Lynne and Bob Cochran; Diane and Rick Rokita; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
