Martha E. (Brodley) Nourie

Martha E. Nourie, age 76, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2025.

She was born in Wilmington, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Haberstick) Brodley. In addition to raising her family, Martha worked as a medical transcriptionist for Christiana Care for over 40 years.

She enjoyed watching her favorite movies and TV shows, listening to her favorite music, and playing card games; playing the slots at Delaware Park and Atlantic City; family vacations to Ocean City, NJ, and trips with her friend, Peggy to Wildwood and Cape May, NJ. One of the greatest blessings in her life was being ‘Grammy,’ a role she cherished deeply and that filled her heart with joy over the past eight years.

Martha is survived by her daughters, Heather Nourie, and Amy Holt (Matthew); her grandchildren, Madeline and Walter; her sister, Dorothy Brodley; and her niece, Sarah Rose (Matt), and their children, Arianna, Josalyn, and Dylan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Phyllis “Joan” Sherwood, and John Brodley.

Services for Martha will be held privately with her family.
