Mark Todd Obituary

Mark Todd of Hockessin went home to be with our Lord and Savior on March 4, 2025, after a 3-week stay at Christiana Hospital following surgery for pancreatic cancer.  Mark was the oldest child of the late Joanne Downing Todd and the late Roland Miller Todd.

Mark graduated in 1970 from A. I. DuPont High School and continued his education at the University of Delaware where he majored in the arts. He enjoyed photography, rock and geode collecting, designing and creating jewelry.  Mark was given the honor of displaying jewelry he made in an exhibit at the Delaware Art Museum.  Mark worked at Dodd Dental Labs where he created bridges and crowns for the patients of various dentists in the area. Mark eventually started his own business, Todd Dental Arts, which he owned and operated until his retirement.

As a young man Mark accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and was baptized at Immanual Baptist Church in Wilmington, DE where his parents were members. He loved reading his Bible and Christian books.  After Mark was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2024, Mark and Jed spent many hours together at Helen Graham Cancer Center while receiving chemotherapy.

Mark will always be remembered for his generosity and kindness. Mark has always been a very caring, big brother to his younger brothers, Jed and Michael, especially during their adolescent years.  In 2018 after the death of his father, Mark returned to the family home to be with his mother. When his mother’s health declined and she had to be admitted to a full-time nursing home, Mark exhibited his caring nature by visiting her every single day for the remainder of her life.

Mark is predeceased by his mother, father, his nephew, Paul Todd.  Mark is survived by his brothers, Jed (Claudia) of Newark and Michael (Lee) of Florida; his nephews, Shawn Todd of Newark and Matthew Todd (Julia) of Laurel, DE.  Mark is also survived by many extended family members.  Mark’s cat, BB, will miss Mark very much.

Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Mark’s memory to Redeemer Fellowship Building Fund, 11 Polly Drummond Shopping Center, Newark, DE
