Marjorie Ann (Robinson) Harrington of Hockessin, Delaware passed away peacefully at the Manor House Retirement Community, in Seaford, Delaware on July 25, 2026. She was born on August 25, 1935, in Elkton, Maryland to Walter Edward Robinson and Joann Virginia Goldsborough. Her last surviving sibling is Karen Montgomery.
Marjorie married Harold Russell Harrington in 1954. They enjoyed 66+ years together, until his passing in 2021. She is survived by two children, Scott Harrington (daughter-in-law Robin Harrington), Penny Denney (son-in-law George Denney), her grandchildren Zeke Harrington and Ruby Stojkovski (grandson-in-law Bryan Stojkovski), along with her beautiful great granddaughter Vera.
Harold and Marjorie owned and operated Harold’s Brake Service, an automotive repair and towing business, which continued 50+ years strong.
When not busy handling the administrative duties of the business, Marjorie was quite active in a wide range of activities with friends. She enjoyed golf (winning many amateur meets with a wicked drive), several decades playing ladies bridge games, and later picked up the game of mahjong with delight.
Always ready with a cup of coffee for anyone stopping in, she was an excellent cook and made special meals for all the holidays, filling the house with family and friends. Her love of antiques decorated the 1840’s Hockessin farmhouse with great care.
A wonderful grandmother, she and her husband would spend summers touring the United States with Zeke and Ruby. The grandchildren have fond memories of the special attention they received from her.
After the passing of her husband Harold, Marjorie moved into the Manor House Retirement Community, in Seaford, Delaware for her remaining five years, to be near her caring daughter Penny and her son-in-law George.
On Monday, August 10th, Services will be held at the Doherty Funeral Home located at 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, Delaware. There will be a viewing beginning at 10:00AM, followed by funeral services at 11:00AM.
Marjorie will then be interred at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, Delaware at 1:00PM.
(It is approximately a half hour drive from the Funeral Home to Cemetery.)
