Marilyn M. Proffitt of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 18th at the age of 90.
Marilyn was born on November 30th, 1931 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Ross D. Moser and Amelia R. Moser. She was a 1949 graduate of P.S. DuPont High School and a 1954 graduate of the Wilmington Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.
Marilyn was employed as a nurse at the Crestview Clinic and as a private duty nurse. She was also employed as a nurse at the Newark Emergency Center for over 20 years where she made many friends. She was a person who always spoke her mind and if she didn’t say anything you could always tell what she was thinking by the look on her face. Her true passion was her children and her family to whom she was devoted to throughout her life.
Marilyn is survived by her sons, Jerry (Schahrzad), Greg (Christine) and Glenn (Denise), eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and her brother Robert. She was predeceased by her brothers, Louis, Richard and Thomas.
The family would like to thank David Parkinson and the staff at The Lorelton for their care and support of our mother during her time there.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Doherty Funeral Homes, 3200 Limestone Rd., Wilmington, DE. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, masks will be required by all persons attending the services.
