Marie R. (Locero) Lulfs, age 85, of Newark, Delaware passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 after battling lung cancer. Born on October 8, 1939, in Wilmington, Delaware, Marie was a devoted wife, cousin, friend and neighbor.
Marie is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Ronald Lulfs.
She was the cherished daughter of Joseph and Myrtle (Hadley) Locero. She attended St. Peter’s of Wilmington before graduating from Wilmington High School.
Marie dedicated 30 years to Wilmington Trust Company, holding various titles including Branch Manager.
A devoted member of the community, Marie was active with Roseville Civic Association. She was known as a very supportive neighbor, assisting many neighbors with their care until recently.
Marie and Ron enjoyed many years of golfing and cruises throughout the Caribbean along with their Delaware Park “family”.
She was predeceased by her parents; and her cousins who were like sisters, Dolores Pyle, Joan Mahan, and Beverly Pawley. She lives on through her loving husband, Ron; her close cousins, Marlene Krajewski, Lewis and Michele Pyle, as well as many other cousins.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Tuesday, March 25 from 9:30 – 11:00AM. Funeral services will begin at 11:00AM, immediately followed by interment at All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington.
