Margaret T. “Margie” Pietras, age 90, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, at Christiana Hospital. She was the firstborn daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Szostkowski) Pietras.
Born and raised in Wilmington, Margie was a lifelong and devoted member of St. Hedwig Parish. She attended St. Hedwig Elementary School and was a proud graduate of St. Elizabeth High School.
Margie dedicated an extraordinary 66 years of service as a legal secretary at Potter Anderson & Corroon. She often spoke of the firm as her second family, a sentiment clearly shared by her colleagues. Since her retirement five years ago, many attorneys, staff members, and their families continued to include Margie in gatherings and celebrations. The steady stream of visitors from the firm during her final days was a testament to the deep affection and respect she inspired.
Margie was actively involved in her faith community. She served on the advisory committee for the former Our Lady of Grace Home and, along with her parents, generously supported numerous events hosted by the Felician Sisters in the Social Hall at Our Lady of Grace. She was also a faithful member of St. Hedwig’s Holy Rosary Society.
Margie is survived by her loving sisters, Mary Ann Rapposelli of Wilmington, DE, and Helena M. Loflin of Fort Worth, TX; and her cherished nephews, Rev. Stephen J. Rapposelli of Mantua, NJ, and Paul E. Rapposelli of Wilmington, DE. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Rocci J. Rapposelli. Margie was also blessed with decades-long friendships and unwavering support from Matt and Tamera Pearson and Don and Jayne Wolfe.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
