Margaret K. Dewson, 98, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away peacefully on Monday, November 8, 2021.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Margaret enjoyed gardening at her longtime Greenville home and knitting for her extended family. A native of Wilmington, she relished local history and took delight in her circle of lifelong friends and family. She attended Saint Joseph on the Brandywine Church for more than 60 years.
Margaret will be fondly remembered by her family and friends for her enduring will and strength of spirit, her fierce dedication and love for her husband and children, and her abiding focus on her close-knit family. Her legacy of guidance, support and encouragement for those to whom she was devoted will be treasured for years to come.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Thomas E. Dewson; son, Timothy J. Dewson; sisters, Nora Allison, Sarah Biebel and Mary Moffett; and daughter-in-law Alice H. Dewson, all of Wilmington. She is survived by her son, Thomas E. Dewson Jr, and daughter-in-law, Barbara Dewson, both of Wilmington; grandson, Thomas E. III (Eileen) of Kennett Square, PA; great-grandsons, Thomas E. IV and Henry Robert Dewson; and step-grandsons, Connor and Jake Hattersley.
A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10am on Tuesday, November 16 at Saint Joseph on the Brandywine Church, 10 Old Church Road, Greenville. Interment will follow in Lower Brandywine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Saint Joseph on the Brandywine Church, Greenville.
