Louis “Lou” G. Rosanio, Jr., age 67, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 with his family by his side.
He was born in Newark, NJ, son of the late Louis and Viola (nee Lombard) Rosanio. Lou was a proud graduate of Villanova University. After graduation in 1979, Lou joined DuPont as a Mechanical Engineer at the Engineering Development Lab. He then joined the FMC Corporation in 2017 in support of their R&D and enjoyed a very hands-on environment with his friends there.
He enjoyed playing and coaching volleyball; was a passionate fan of the NY Yankees and ‘Nova basketball; enjoyed woodworking, robotics, and collecting Lionel trains; he was integral in the coordination of the FIRST Lego League within the state of Delaware; he was a devout and involved parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Church; and an ardent support of the Salesianum marching band. Above all else, he cherished spending time with his family, especially at the beach.
Lou is survived by his wife, Lynn (nee Hackendorn) Rosanio; his children, Gabe, Marissa (Ryan McCoy), Theresa, and Sophia; his grandchildren, Jonathan and Nolan McCoy; his siblings, Bill (Sandy), and Gabe (Joan); his in-laws, Jack Hackendorn (Gail Weaverling), Theresa Dawson (Barry), Mike Hackendorn (Martiza, deceased), and AnnMarie Monroe (Mike); as well as many nieces, nephews, and members of his extended family, whom he cherished.
Lou’s family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the nurses, patient care techs and doctors at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital for their care and compassion.
