Louis Reno Obituary

Louis Robert Reno, age 77, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, in Wilmington, Delaware, after a courageous battle with ALS.

Born on September 28, 1948, in Wilmington, Delaware, Lou was the beloved son of the late Louis and Marie Reno. He was raised with strong family values that stayed with him throughout his life, and he carried those lessons into every role he held as a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Steven Reno and Richard Reno, whom he loved dearly and remembered often.

Lou was a graduate of De La Warr High School in New Castle, Delaware, and he went on to build a long and dedicated career as an auto worker at General Motors, where he worked for more than 30 years. He was known for his strong work ethic, his reliability, and the pride he took in doing his job well. His coworkers and friends respected him for his intelligence, his sense of humor, and the steady presence he brought to those around him. Lou met life with courage and determination, and he faced every challenge with quiet strength.

Lou’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Reno; his son, Louis Reno, and daughter-in-law, Jennifer; and his daughter, Christine Campbell, and son-in-law, Michael. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Aiden, Maci, and Cole Reno, and to Natalie, Leah, and Katie Campbell. He is also survived by his cherished younger sister, Marlene West, whom he adored. Lou treasured every moment with his children and grandchildren, finding deep happiness in watching them grow, play sports, and pursue their passions. He was their biggest supporter and one of their most enthusiastic fans.

Lou was a lifelong fan of Philly sports, especially the Phillies and the Eagles. He followed them with loyalty and passion, and he enjoyed sharing that enthusiasm with family and friends. He also loved the beach, fishing, and tending to his vegetable gardens. These simple pleasures brought him peace and satisfaction, and they reflected the steady and grounded life he lived. Whether he was spending time outdoors, cheering on his favorite teams, or enjoying the company of those he loved, Lou found joy in the everyday moments that made life meaningful.

He will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his long and faithful years of hard work, and the strength and humor he carried through every season of life. His legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the love he gave, and the memories he created with those who were fortunate enough to know him. Though he will be deeply missed, his family takes comfort in knowing that his love, faith, and example will continue to guide them.

Louis Robert Reno’s life was one of dedication, love, and resilience. He will be remembered always with affection, gratitude, and respect by all who knew and loved him.
