Linda R. (Royer) Mahoney

Linda R. Mahoney, age 77, of Cochranville, PA, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly Monday, May 12, 2025.  Linda dedicated 25 years of her life as an officer at MBNA.  She retired in 2009 after many years of devoted service.  Linda was an active participant at St. John the Baptist/Holy Angels Parish where she served on the finance council, the bereavement committee that helped host funerals and baptisms, and as a Eucharistic Minister.  Linda enjoyed traveling, reading, spending time at the beach, cooking, and hosting friends and family.  Her greatest passion was spending time with her family, supporting and cheering them on in all of their endeavors. 

Linda is survived by her loving husband, William J. Mahoney III; children, Catie O’Donoghue (Jim) of Hockessin, DE and B.J. Mahoney (Tina) of Kennett Square, PA; 7 beloved grandchildren: Hunter, Will, Ryan, Jake, Matthew, Daly and Rowan; her siblings, Anita Martin (Robert) of Naples, Florida, Patricia Shimkus of West Hartford, CT and Peter Royer (Sharon) of West Hartford, CT.  She was preceded in death by her parents, A.J. and Irene Royer; and brother in law, Charles Shimkus.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, on Sunday, June 1, from 3:00 – 5:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Angels Church, 82 Possum Park Road, Newark, DE 19711, on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 10:00am. Interment will be private.
