Kevin Joseph McGuinness, age 61, died peacefully surrounded by his family at his Landenberg, Pennsylvania home on Sunday, October 19, 2025 after an 18 month courageous battle with colon cancer.

Kevin is survived by his wife of 22 years, Victoria C. Margolis and their children, MaryGrace Conway and Patrick Sheldon McGuinness; his brother, Sean McGuinness (Lori Keenan); his sister, Moira McGuinness (Kent Priestly); brother-in-law, Brian Margolis (Karlyn); sister-in-law, Heather Margolis (Tim Warner); as well as 8 nieces and nephews.

A sixth-generation Delawarean, Kevin was born in Wilmington on June 3, 1964, to parents John Owen McGuinness and Mary Knox McGuinness. He attended Ursuline Academy, St. Edmond’s Academy and Archmere Academy (Class of 1982).  He received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Delaware in 1986, and later a Master of Business Administration degree. He was a certified public accountant, and carried on an active tax and accounting practice until the time of his death.

Kevin was known as an incredibly devoted father, husband, brother and friend. He drove his children to endless athletic and social activities, and was always available to assist them with their school assignments and to provide academic advice. He was famous for his inexhaustible energy and passion for holiday decorating, over-the-top children’s parties, and vacationing. He was an avid tennis player, lifelong skier, and also loved visiting Disney World and Hilton Head Island.  He was a thrill seeker and shared that love of adventure with his children.
