Kathleen (Rubincam) Mark, 76, of Hockessin, Delaware peacefully passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on Monday, June 23, 2025. Born in Wilmington on October 11, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Helen (Shepherd) Rubincam.
In her younger years, Kathie was a member of St. Ann’s Parish and attended St. Ann’s Grade School, where she once had the privilege of serving as May Queen in her eighth grade year. She went on to become a proud graduate of Padua Academy. During her school years, Kathie was an avid participant in competitive basketball and softball. She later served as a CYO basketball referee and became the number one fan at all of her daughters’ sporting events. When she wasn’t playing sports or cheering on her daughters, she enjoyed watching sports, especially the Phillies and “March Madness”.
Family was the center of Kathie’s life, and she loved to preserve many family gatherings and memories by capturing moments on film and video. Genealogy was also a passion for her. Before settling her roots in Delaware to raise a family, Kathie and her husband, Ed, lived in Corpus Christi, TX, Charlotte, NC and Nashua, NH.
Kathie will be dearly missed by her husband of 52 years, Edward C. Mark Jr.; her daughters, Lauren Leathern and husband, Chris, Kelly Monigle and husband, Ian; her beloved grandchildren, Madison and Kennedy Leathern, Quinn, Cameron and Bree Monigle. She is also survived by her sisters, Patricia Shum, Sharon York and husband, Robert; her brother, Michael Rubincam and wife, Terry. She was predeceased by her sister, Elaine Lord.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Monday, July 7 from 5:00 – 7:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Church, Gilpin Avenue and Union Street, Wilmington on Tuesday, July 8 at 10:30AM. Interment will be held privately.
