Karl Arthur Grieshaber, 88, of Newark, Delaware passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023 after a long illness. He was the son of Arthur and Tressie Grieshaber (nee Coulter). He is survived by the love of his life, Shirley; daughters, Danielle (Ron) and Claudine; sister, Marilyn (Carl); grandchildren, Evelyn and Brendan and; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
As a young boy, Karl was introduced to art and drawing. It developed into a deep love and appreciation of a wide array of visual art, music, dance, and theater. Known around town as “The Man with the Pink Cane”, he was a proud supporter of many organizations including the Delaware Art Museum, the Dickinson Theater Organ Society, Opera Delaware, Delaware Symphony Orchestra, the Grand Opera House, Winterthur, and Longwood Gardens. He particularly enjoyed the Wilmington Children’s Chorus and the Delaware Contemporary Museum and appreciated their children’s educational programs and their commitment to bring all types of art to all children.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
