Karen Lynn Clarkson, age 62, of Townsend, DE, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, after a long battle with breast cancer.
She was born in Philadelphia, PA, one of nine children of the late John and Marilyn (Gager) Clarkson.
Karen dedicated her life to raising her family and caring for others. She enjoyed gardening, playing in her puzzle books (especially cryptograms), and taking trips to the beach in Wildwood, NJ.
She is survived by her children, Shawn Schneider, Eric Schneider (Kim), and Michelle Pennington (Joseph); her siblings, Jack Clarkson (Sherry), Deborah Clarkson, Daniel Clarkson, Christine Colyar (Raymond), Ronald Clarkson (Marie; and late wife, Donna), and Robert Clarkson; her grandchildren, Chasidy, Keirsten and LeAnne; 2 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and members of her extended family; and her grand-pups Pierce and Roxy
In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her siblings, Patricia Burns (Gail, deceased), and Michael Clarkson (Shirley, deceased); and her grandchildren, Charlotte, Adelynn, Juliette, and Ava.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday, May 7, 2021 at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
