Josette Marie (Prange) Giordano

Josette Marie Giordano, age 83, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 11, 2022.

Born in Ridley Park, PA, Josette was the daughter of the late Arthur and Cidney (Harkins) Prange. She graduated from Chichester High School Class of 1958, where she was crowned May Queen. Josette was a talented artist, who was offered a scholarship to attend Moore Art School. Before retiring in 2015, Josette was a floral designer for over 35 years at Penny Hill Florist and then at Kirk’s Florist. In earlier years, she was a member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality at St. Mary Magdalen Church.

Josette loved to use her creative talents in many ways. She enjoyed tole painting, cake decorating, painting murals and ceramics. She was also a talented seamstress who used to make clothing for her and her daughters.

Josette will be remembered for her kind and caring spirit and big heart. She was a good mother and homemaker, who made everything beautiful and did it effortlessly. She was an amazing baker and decorator, who loved to host family events and holidays. Josette loved spending time with her family, especially summers at her home in Pot Nets and traveling with her husband, Matt. Some of their favorite trips were to Canada, Nassau and the Bahamas.

In her leisure time, Josette was an avid reader, especially of holistic healing books and enjoyed watching TV and movies. She was also an animal lover. Josette was also a trained massage therapist.

Josette is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Matthew J. Giordano; her daughters, Yvonne Russell (Clifton) and Janette Giordano; her six grandchildren, Joshua Spahn (Bonnie), Kristen Russell (Dwayne), Ronald Feher (Jordin), Chelsea Silva (Adam), Jack Sparks, and Kevin Sparks; her great grandchildren, Lilly, Mikayla and Savannah Spahn, Ronnie, Phillip and Addison Russell, Gianna Feher and one little grandson on the way; her brother, Rodger Prange (Lisa); her sisters, Sharon Smith (Jim) and Cynthia Pagnano; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Linnea Giordano; her great grandson, Tyler Spahn, her great granddaughter, Rylee Spahn; her parents and her brother-in-law, Hank Pagnano.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 10 to 11 AM on Wednesday, January 19 at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808, where a Celebration of Josette’s Life will begin at 11 AM. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
