Jon Veloski, age 75, died in his home in Hockessin, Delaware on September 25, 2022. Born in 1947, he was a 1965 graduate of Sun Valley High School in Aston, Pennsylvania. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Drexel University in 1970, and studied statistics at the University of Pennsylvania, earning a Masters of Science Degree in 1976. Jon resided in Philadelphia when he began working at the Thomas Jefferson University College of Medicine in 1970, where he worked for 51 years until his retirement in 2021.
In the summer of 1975, Jon met his wife, Judith Ann. They were soon married in 1976 and went on to raise three children, Stephan, Marabeth, and Peter, in Wallingford, Pennsylvania. Jon was an avid photographer and received awards for his photographs. He was a member of the Rose Valley Folk, and volunteered to help the less fortunate with the Spring Garden Soup Society.
Jon is survived by his wife, three children, and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by a niece, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved American Terrier, Scout, and his parents, Joseph and Elisabeth.
A viewing will occur at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek in Wilmington on Thursday, September 29 from 5:00 - 7:00PM.
It is requested by the family that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Delaware Hospice, 16 Polly Drummond Center, Newark, Delaware 19711.
