Joseph E. Tucker, 55, of Newark, Delaware passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, August 21, 2023. Born in Wilmington on December 31, 1967, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Anne M. (McGoldrick) Tucker.
Joe was a graduate of Alexis I. duPont High School in Greenville and Glassboro State College in New Jersey (now Rowan University). He began his working career with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and remained in close contact with many good friends from his years there. For the past 18 years, Joe worked at Newark Natural Foods, having served in various operational management roles over the years, where he again developed strong lasting friendships with both co-workers and customers.
Joe was an Eagle Scout, enjoying many summers at Rodney Scout Reservation. His love of the outdoors through camping and kayaking continued throughout his life. Joe cared deeply for others and will be remembered for his kindness and ready willingness to help in any way he could. Joe enjoyed people and being with people — whether family, friends, co-workers, or customers. He will be remembered for his outgoing friendly nature and his kind and generous spirit.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy. Joe is survived by his partner, Peter McArdle; sisters, Anne M. Tucker and Betty Tucker Dietz (Tom); brother, Charles A. Tucker (Jean); as well as many nieces and nephews.
