Joseph Thomas Flinn, Jr., 56, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away unexpectedly on July 10, 2025.
A devoted husband, loving father, and cherished son, Joe's sudden passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 10 years, Tracy Flinn; his daughters and stepdaughters, Logan, Riley, Annika, Samantha, and Emma; his father, Joseph T. Flinn, Sr.; his mother, Constance Hamilton; his sister, Shannon Flinn; his cousin, Alan Brooks; his first wife, Linda Flinn; his brothers-in-law, Marc Corvino, Bob Haines, and Robert Neely; and nieces and nephews, Brianna, Dillon, Caitlin, Cassidy, and Marley. Joe was predeceased by his sister, Colleen Flinn Neely, whose memory remained close to his heart.
Joe absolutely adored his daughters, Logan and Riley. The three of them shared a bond that words cannot capture — deep, unbreakable, and filled with love. They made countless memories together over the years. Joe made even the simplest moments feel magical. He showed his girls what it meant to be truly loved and reminded them, always, to lead with kindness and give back to others.
Joe graduated from Unionville High School and served honorably in the United States Air Force. Throughout his distinguished career in sales, he held a number of leadership roles with prominent international companies, including positions as Regional Director, Area Vice President of Sales, District Sales Manager, and Account Executive. His dedication, strategic insight, and ability to build lasting relationships led to consistent success and recognition within the industry. He was the recipient of numerous awards and accolades, including multiple inductions into the President’s Club, a testament to his exceptional performance and commitment to excellence.
Joe found his greatest joy on the water, whether paddle boarding or simply soaking in the peace that came with being near it. He cherished time spent with his family above all and embraced an active lifestyle, often swimming, biking, or working out at the gym. Among his proudest personal accomplishments were completing the Ironman Triathlon and running the Boston Marathon—testaments to his determination and strength.
Joe will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his quick wit, and the kindness he showed to everyone he met. His presence brought warmth and humor to every room, and his absence will be deeply felt.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 4, at 12:00pm at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. Interment will be held privately in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
