Jolyn (Mazzetti) Mills

Jolyn Mazzetti Mills, age 60, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on August 14, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, a stroke, and other illnesses.

She was born on April 25, 1965, daughter of the late Renzo and Josephine (Kirwin) Mazzetti; and grew up in the Rosemont neighborhood of Elsmere with a childhood full of wonderful memories. Jolyn cherished these times spent with her siblings, cousins and neighborhood friends. She attended Corpus Christi Grade School and graduated from Howard High School; and went on to have a career at Discover Card. Leaving the workforce early due to illness; she stepped into the role of housewife and stepmom. Her love, support, and guidance are very much why our children are the way they are today. A few years later, Jolyn would take on the role of Mom-Mom; her granddaughters were her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Renzo, and John.

Jolyn is survived by her husband, Dan; her children, Alisa Proton (Remi) and Danny Mills II (Taryn); her granddaughters, Jaden and Alexis Proton; and her sisters, Risa Parrish, Janel Giordano (Joe), and Dina Wyatt (Randy); her beloved dog, Ebby; as well as numerous members of her extended family and dear friends.

A viewing will be held at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808 on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Church, 905 New Road, Wilmington, DE 19805 on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 11:00am. Interment will be private.
