John M. Donofrio, age 54, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, May 21, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma in February 2022, despite his struggle, he remained strong and courageous.

Johnny graduated from St. Mark’s High School. He went on to obtain a degree in Criminal Justice from Widener University and a degree in Business Administration from Wesley College. He worked as a manager for the Delaware News Journal for 19 years and as an independent contractor with Priority Courier until the time of his diagnosis.

He enjoyed all sports, especially football and was a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan. He enjoyed coaching his son’s little league baseball team, spending time with his family, his fantasy football league and  bringing dog treats to his furry nieces and nephews.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth “Betty Ann” Donofrio and Francis “Sam” Donofrio as well as grandparents, Susan (Cartolano) and John M. Donofrio - whom he was named after.

Johnny  is survived by his wife, Jenny; his son and the love of his life,  “Little” John; stepson, James; sisters, Gina Donofrio-Medkeff and Tara Donofrio (Brian Tinsley); his aunt; Janet Patterson (Terry Pennell) and uncles, Daniel Jones and Edwin Jones (Tina); as well as a host of cousins.   He was an extraordinary uncle and proudest of his nephews, Mathew Medkeff, Cody Manuel and Christopher Medkeff.

Johnny was truly the kindest man, genuine and sincere, consistently put others before himself, always had a smile, never hesitated to help anyone and loved sharing funny memories or stories - and there were many!

His passing has left a hole in our hearts and we will miss him desperately.
