Joanne (Golowach) Drolet was born on July 23, 1954, and was called home to her Heavenly Father on August 21, 2025.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Andrew Drolet; her son, Master Sergeant Timothy Drolet (Ret.) and his wife, Ashley; and her beloved grandson, Austin. She is also survived by her brothers, Billy Golowach and his wife, Lisa, and George Golowach.
Joanne was many things to many people, and while words like loving, strong, beautiful, and caring certainly describe her, they only scratch the surface. At her heart, Joanne was a wife, mother, and grandmother—roles she poured herself into fully.
She and Andrew shared a marriage of 50 years, one marked by love, endurance, and daily devotion. Joanne was the proud mother of her son, Timothy, and the kind of mother-in-law who welcomed Ashley as her own, sharing her joy for home decorating and gardening. Above all, she found her greatest happiness as “Grandma Jo,” traveling any distance to be present for Austin’s milestones, holidays, and celebrations.
Joanne had a gift for making people feel at ease. She greeted new friends like old ones, spoke often of her family with pride, and filled her home with photographs that reflected the people she cherished most. She never missed a birthday or holiday card and was quick to offer kind words or encouragement—small but meaningful ways she showed her love.
To know Joanne was to know warmth, generosity, and unwavering love. She will be remembered not only for the life she lived but for the love she gave, which will continue to live on in her family and all who were blessed to know her.
Services for Joanne will take place at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 82 Possum Park Rd., Newark, DE, on Thursday, August 28th, 2025 where family and friends may visit from 9:00–10:45 AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 11AM.
