Jesse David Moncrief, age 69, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed on March 4, 2025 surrounded by his loving wife, children and grandson, Dylan.
Jesse grew up and went to Catholic school in Charleston, West Virginia. His senior year of high school his family moved to South Dakota where Jesse was a graduate of Stevens High School in Rapid City, SD. He also received his Bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech and his Master’s degree from the University of Missouri. Jesse was an Industrial Engineer specializing in Operations Research. He worked for Christiana Care for over thirty years, his title and department varied over his tenure.
Jesse was also an avid Boy Scout and Scout leader for over thirty years, participating in leadership roles in Pack 29, Pack 959 and Troop 803 of Hockessin, DE. He coached soccer for his children's teams at both the Temple Terrace, Florida and Hockessin, Delaware Soccer Club for many seasons. He also served as a member and President, Delaware Chapter IIE. His hobbies included baking bread and cookies, tennis, hiking, camping, fishing, travel, gardening and woodworking. Jesse was always handy around the house, often taking on projects that most would not - and sometimes he finished them. Jesse will be remembered for his selfless dedication and love for his family. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his love, laughter, and the countless memories he leaves behind.
Jesse was predeceased by his parents, David and Sara; his son, Jason; and his sisters, Julia and Mary. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Teresa “Tina” of Wilmington, DE; his daughter, Cynthia of Wilmington, DE; his sons, Joseph (daughter-in-love, Carie) of Dover, DE and David (Megan) of Crofton, MD; and his grandchildren, Dylan of Wilmington, DE, and Ethan and Emerson of Crofton, MD.
A memorial service will be held in Charleston, WV where Jesse will be interned at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in the coming months.
